Cork firm disposes of redundant tech kit

Cork-based Wisetek, a provider of secure data-elimination and responsible recycling services to IT companies, has announced the opening of its first secure operations facility in Dublin.

Located adjoining the M50 in west Dublin, the facility will provide services for the secure, environmentally friendly and efficient financial management of client used IT infrastructure equipment to the Dublin data centre sector.

The company also announced the creation of 20 new jobs, located in Dublin and at the re-manufacturing facility in Cork.

CEO Sean Sheehan (pictured) said: “Our existing Dublin customers and other companies are increasingly seeking global services solutions, for the optimum management of their used IT infrastructure systems. Wisetek currently has operations in the USA, Asia and EMEA regions and we are delighted to add Dublin to our expanding global footprint.”

Wisetek specialises in ‘track and trace’ reporting on data erasure and/or destruction and the processing of all related materials from used systems.

Wisetek was founded in 2007 to support major enterprise systems manufacturers to meet the increasing demands of global e-waste regulations.  The company also has facilities in the US and Thailand and customers include EMC, VCE and McAfee.

Operating company Wisetek Solutions Ltd reported a gross profit of €8 million for the year to October 2015. Operating profit was €304,000, down from €506,000, and net profit was €223,000 compared with €416,000 in 2013/14. Net worth at year-end was €2.7 million, including €1,341,000 in cash.
