Windsor Motor Group has turned to training firm Optimum for QQI Level 6 training for eight aftersales staff.

The programme, part funded by Skillnets, was specifically tailored to the retail motor industry and focused on developing skills that lead to successful teams and business management.

Modules in the programme include communication, self-management, organisational skills, managing teams for high performance, leadership, legislation and strategic planning.

Windsor’s aftersales director Robbie O’Neill commented: “The motor industry is extremely competitive and we want to ensure that our team have the right skills and knowledge required to effectively execute their roles across our 14 dealerships.

“The employee gains by professional development and progression, the company gains by having happy and committed employees and the customer gains by receiving the best service and experience in the industry.”

Optimum chief executive Mary Harrison said the training programme was designed in detail for Windsor Motor Group and was specifically aimed at enhancing and improving their abilities across a wide range of personal and business development skills.

Established in 1964, Windsor Motor Group is Ireland’s leading dealer group, with 320 employees. It operates nine Nissan dealerships, two Opel dealerships, two Peugeot dealerships and a Mazda dealership in Galway.

Windsor Motor Group, through Sixt Leasing, also provides Fleet Management services to the large corporate and SME sectors.
