EY Ireland has appointment eight new partners to its ranks, bringing the total number of partners within the Irish business to 68.
The firm, which provides assurance, tax, transaction and advisory services, recorded income growth of 16% in FY16 and is expecting double-digit growth at the end of FY17.
EY’s assurance (audit) team has been bolstered with the appointment of five new partners. Derarca Dennis heads up the firm’s financial accounting advisory services; Belfast-based Ruth Logan specialises in external audit, corporate finance and financial reporting; and Ciara McKenna sits within EY’s financial services organisation and provides assurance services to clients in the areas of insurance, banking and asset management sectors.
The assurance team also welcomed Cathal McDonagh from KPMG and Brian Lenihan, who joined from Mincon Group, where he was CFO.
Within the firm’s advisory division, EY promoted performance improvement expert Ronan Walsh and Ivan O’Brien, who is based in EY’s Cork office and advises clients on issues such as cyber security and data protection.
Shane Mac Sweeney was also appointed partner and head of government & infrastructure for EY Ireland. Sitting within the firm’s transaction advisory services team, Mac Sweeney joined EY earlier this year from KPMG Australia.
Commenting on the appointments, Mike McKerr, country managing partner with EY Ireland said that they follow continued business success and investment in EY’s core growth areas.
“These internal partner admissions and direct admit appointments demonstrate our commitment to continuously expanding the breadth of our service offering by investing in the best talent, and will further accelerate our growth in the years to come,” he added.
