James Skehan at New Ireland recently singled out the BNY Mellon Global Real Return Fund as being popular with the company’s clients. This fund aims to outperform cash (one-month EURIBOR) by 4.0% per annum over a rolling five-year period, gross of tax and charges. Using a multi-asset approach, the fund looks to provide investors with solid long term investment return, with less short-term risk.
This approach would seem to have wide appeal: the current size of the fund is €959m. The asset split is 44% equities, 32% bonds, 13% alternatives, 6% cash and 5% others. As of October 6, the five-year annualised gross return is 5.9% before taxation and management charges.
