Trade finance technology company TradeIX is to expand staff numbers at its global headquarters in Dublin by adding 70 jobs this year.

The new roles will be in engineering, sales, customer service, and product development. The company provides a technology platform used by the Marco Polo Network, the global trade finance network used by companies including ING, BNP Paribas, Commerzbank, LBBW, Anglo-Gulf Trade Bank, NatWest, Natixis and SMBC.

The trade finance market is worth c.$8 trillion annually, and the TradeIX platform is delivered to corporate clients of the Marco Polo member banks via ERP-embedded applications.

Chief executive Robert Barnes (pictured) said: “We are building the world’s first distributed trade finance platform powered by Corda blockchain technology, and the Irish operation plays a pivotal role in developing and scaling the company’s solutions.”

IDA Ireland chief executive Martin Shanahan commented: “Ireland’s global reputation as a blockchain centre of excellence, attracting international companies to make use of Ireland’s well-developed technological and research sectors, is strengthened by TradeIX’s decision to expand in Dublin.”

TradeIX is headquartered in Dublin with offices in London, Kettering and Singapore and operations in Germany and the US. To see the jobs on offer, click here.
