Social media agency Storyful officially opened its expanded Dublin headquarters today and promised that more jobs and growth for the company is on the way.

Backed by IDA Ireland, Storyful has devised a three-year strategy up to 2018, which anticipates continued growth in product, creative and technology departments. Since the beginning of 2016, the company has added 30 new employees in Dublin.

Storyful was founded by former RTE correspondent Mark Little in 2010. He has since left the business, which was acquired by Rupert Murdoch’s News Corp in 2013.

Speaking at today’s opening, Rahul Chopra, Storyful CEO, said: “I am biased but I think our team is the best in the world at all things social and nobody can deliver the level of depth and insight Storyful provides. “We track conversations big and small, important and humorous, to bring our partners the moments that matter to the audiences they’re trying to reach. So much of that fascinating work is happening here in Ireland.”

Storyful recently appointed Lisa McDonald as its first chief creative officer based in Dublin. She joined from PSG Communications, where she served as creative director and sat on the board.

Chopra continued: “We continue to look to expand the various ways we can help organisations especially given the fact we are seeing businesses align their marketing and communication functions to leverage insights from across the digital space.

“Marketers know user-generated content is 20% more influential on purchase decisions and 35% more memorable than other types of brand creative.”

Storyful is currently hiring for several positions in its Dublin-based headquarters. News Corporation injected €4.5m in fresh equity capital into Storyful after the company racked up loses of €4.5m through 2015. The September 2016 funding followed €6.1m in funding that News Corp provided in January 2016. Accumulated losses at Storful stood at €10.4m in December 2015.
