The BH Club is a 120-seater ‘concept’ on Ormond Quay

The owners of trendy Dublin 2 wine bar Bagots Hutton have officially opened a new establishment on Ormond Quay. Called ‘BH Club’, owners Giovanni Viscardi and Brian Deery’s new venue is, according to the publicity blurb, a “wine bar, shop, restaurant and music venue concept”.

The 120-seater concept is split into three areas, comprising a café bar, basement-level fine dining area and first-floor mezzanine, which has the main bar and a live entertainment area. Brash in design and open plan in construction, Bagots Hutton apparently draws inspiration from the modern New York style café.

Bagots Hutton will serve Mediterranean-style food, with plenty of antipasti, salads, pizza and pasta. It also boasts a prosecco cocktail menu that was designed by “one of the worldʼs leading mixologists”, Paul William Pineapple.

The front area, housing the café, will sell fine wines, teas, and coffee. Music promoter Eoin Long has also been drafted in to BH Club to secure live music acts for the venue.

Bagots Hutton on 28 South William Street built on an original family business that ran there for 150 years up to the 1980s. When the venue subsequently reopened, it created a name for itself with its fine wine selection and as a trendy dining spot.

The new BH Club is located at 6 Ormond Quay Upper, Dublin 1.

Hazel Chu, Johnny Ryan, Patrick Costello and Philip Gilsenan are holding a charity get together for the Peter McVerry Trust to support homeless families, on Friday December 23 at 7.30pm. Last year their Christmas party raised over €12,000 in many small donations on the night and online, and larger corporate donations came in too (kudos to Google who gave half of the total). The party takes place at Bagots Hutton wine bar on Ormond Quay.
